It all started when…

I was a little girl and would line my stuffed animals up in a classroom square and spend the day teaching them like I was in school even when I wasn’t. Like most I had no idea what I really wanted to do in life and a simple activity I did in graduate school helped me see it was always teaching that was my career path. Teaching is my passion along with music, scuba diving, and travel. I was born in New Britian, Connecticut. I love everything about the East Coast, even though I now live on the West Coast in San Diego, California.

I have always been a bit of an oddball and a wanderer. My blog is dedicated to all the ways we depart. I find departures have been much more significant in my life and produced the greatest changes. We often get caught up in new arrivals and the excitement can dissipate quickly. I am much more interested in how and why we depart and the changes that result.
